This is the Olds Pinto trumpet. A really unique modular trumpet made by the F.E. Olds & Son company. It can be entirely disassembled and reassembled by unscrewing and screwing some very clever threaded bell-to-leadpipe braces. But that's not all, this trumpet has some other tricks. All 3 valves are interchangeable, that's right, insert any valve into any casing and the trumpet plays exactly the same. The 1st and 3rd slides are also interchangeable. The valve casing is a solid block of injection molded composite plastic designed to resist both corrosion and cracking. Metal valve sleeves are contained within this valve block. Olds was very ahead of it's time with this trumpet, and it's definitely a different animal than the other Olds models. This trumpet works & plays great. The valves are super quick, and the slides are free and smooth. The shiny gold lacquer finish is about 85% intact in my estimation, and shows some average hand wear. Everything works good on this trumpet and this is your chance to get a really great playing Olds horn. The trumpet has some dents in it, mainly in the bell section. They don't effect the playability of the horn and you could easily get them removed if you wish. The engraving on the bell is clear and crisp. This is a nice all around free blowing horn. If you've been jonesin' for an Olds Pinto, here's your chance. This trumpet will come with it's original Olds Pinto case. The case shows wear and tear and is missing a latch, but still protects the trumpet well. Just let me know before I ship and I will include one.
