Plays in either G or F, making it the ideal trumpet for Baroque performance.

Yamaha high-pitched trumpets feature brilliant tone with crisp clear attacks and excellent control in the high register. Though originally used primarily for Baroque music, they are increasingly used by solo and orchestral players for security with difficult high passages as well as for the clarity and lyrical qualities of their sound. What Conn says: Here is a rare instrument: the 35B Victor D trumpet. Produced between 1961 and 1969 on special order only. It has a #½ bore, which is 0.425" and bottom spring valves. Interestingly, like the 25B Victor C trumpet Conn chose to base the design of this instrument on the 1955-1957 Victor and not the Connstellation. Perhaps this is telling. Afterall, this is a professional-only instrument, amateurs and high school bands usually don't require a D trumpet, making the choice of design noteworthy. Please see Comparative quality of Conn instruments, part 2 for a longer discussion of this. Also notice that this instrument doesn't have any nickel trim, and the 2nd slide is at a right angle to the valve casing in stead of being angled towards the player as is usually the case for instruments in the 1950's and 1960's. It also seems to me that when one were to compare the 25B Victor C trumpet, this 35 Victor D trumpet and the 2A Victor (!) Eb cornet, you would see the same design in all of these instruments. Small dent on the bell, I'm hoping to have it repaired before it's sold. Comes with the original case and a original constellation 9B-N mouthpiece in a combination of gold, silver plate.

The bell is a 239 C trumpet bell It sounds and plays and projects a lot like a C trumpet just slightly brighter.

There’s some intonation quarks like all Bach trumpets, but any common alternate fingers can correct it just fine.

It does well with short shank backbores like Pickett brass/monette style to the point you don’t need alternate fingerings

There is some minor scratching around the horn body and minor spots of lacquer wear on and around hand contact areas.

The valve action is fantastic and compression is perfect the slides move freely and smoothly. It Comes with extra “D” slide set

Comes with a generic case, no Mouthpiece

This horn will be Sonically Cleaned and polished before sending out.

I wanted to get it on the site now. There is tarnish and slight water stains at some of the contact areas.

I think after the horn being sonically cleaned and polished this will not be much of a issue.

Yamaha YTR-761 D SN 080235A It’s a great harmony trumpet with a big sound for a small horn. No Main tuning Slide. Non original 2nd bottom cap. Bells in great shape. Valve block is fast and smooth, w/ excellent compression. Silver is 95% a few little Dings but nothing a competent repair man couldn’t handle. All you need is the tuning slide.
