- Era:Very Early Los Angeles period.
- Production Context: In late 1970, production moved from Burbank to Los Angeles after the company was sold to Leisure Time Industries. By 1971, serial numbers typically fell within the 8300–8700 range.
- Significance: Instruments from this period are highly regarded by collectors and professional musicians because they were made before the company was sold to H.N. White (King) in 1972 and subsequent production changes.
The “3X+” is a variation of the popular 3X model, designed for players who need more volume and a broader sound.
