Description
A very special Calicchio 2 Pipe Bell unknown S/n 1599 Manufactured in Los Angeles after Dominic moved from New Your to LA Circa 1956
This horn comes from a Los Angeles pro who finally retired and put the horn down. The Lead-pipe is stamped 2 (#2: Open venturi, free blowing, brilliant sound)
The Bell has no number demarkation. I assume a 1S since a “S” is stamped between the serial number and the (ML) bore size. ML = .460
Bob Malone did a valve rebuild. It has had Reeves valve alignment, and Comes in a cross rock single case.
Lots of great compression in the valves and slides. It is light to hold with very nimble valve action.
Now the bad news…………….. at the moment it is missing two bottom caps. I’m looking into where I might be able to get them.
The horn plays great but missing two bottom caps is unfortunate. I have my feelers out trying to source original bottom caps.
I know there are tech guys who can also make them. Stay Tuned
