Description

Schagerl Ganschhorn Light S/n 9659 GOLD PLATE Perfect MINT!

The Ganschhorn was created in 2012 from Thomas Gansch s desire to combine the playful and tonal advantages of a rotary valve with the simpler handling of a piston trumpet. For Thomas, it was important that the trumpet could be perfectly operated with one hand, allowing him maximum freedom during daily use on stages around the world. The upturned bell shape further facilitates projecting the sound directly to the audience over the music stand. On the occasion of our 60th company anniversary in 2021, their two Ganschhorn models underwent a thorough update. For example, minor improvements were made to the leadpipes, which are now soldered in place on all horns. This resulted in even more stable intonation and more precise/direct response in all registers. Our instruments are manufactured with the utmost accuracy and precision, combining traditional craftsmanship with the latest findings and state-of-the-art tools.

The Schagerl company was founded in 1961 and started building wind instruments. They began building trumpets and flugelhorns in small series as early as 1963. At the beginning of the 90s they developed the first flugelhorns. The renowned trumpeter Hans Gansch tested their models and was immediately impressed. He recommended it to his father, Hans Gansch Sr., who was looking for a good flugelhorn for his youngest son, Thomas Gansch.
For the company's 60th anniversary, the “Hans Gansch Flugelhorn” was developed in collaboration. This and all Schagerl flugelhorns impress with their excellent intonation and a warm, round and lively sound. The precision valve assembly specially developed by Schagerl ensures easy response and excellent flexibility.

The Schagerl flugelhorns are equipped for all musical applications. From the brass band to the folk music ensemble to the symphonic brass band and classical ensemble, the instruments can be used without restriction.
Their instruments are manufactured according to the latest findings in traditional handcraft using the most modern tools. With utmost accuracy and precision, each instrument undergoes strict quality control before leaving their master workshop. With this concept, the Schagerl company remains true to its motto: “In Quality we trust!”

Thomas Gansch (born 31 December 1975 in St. Pölten) is a well-known Vienna-based Austrian trumpet player.[1][failed verification] He began his studies at Vienna music school at the age of 15.

In 1992 the brass septet Mnozil Brass was founded, in which he has since played first trumpet. In 1999 he was invited to the Vienna Art Orchestra, a renowned European Big Band. Later, he founded his own “little big band”, Gansch & Roses.

Thomas Gansch performs on an unusual looking trumpet of his own design, commonly referred to as the “Gansch Horn”, a rotary-valve trumpet (commonly seen in European orchestras) on which the valve section has been reconfigured so that the player holds the instrument in the same orientation as a piston-valve trumpet (commonly seen in jazz bands). The instrument is made by the Austrian manufacturer Schagerl. Gansch uses this with a Bach 3B megatone trumpet mouthpiece.[2]
